Statement on the Occupation of L.A.

If you’ve been paying any attention to the news the last few days I’m sure you’ve seen the attacks on Los Angeles leveraged by the current executive branch of the United States Government. Between the illegal, unconstitutional raids on people whose documented status is in question or the LAPD being so overwhelmed that the National Guard, first, and then the US FUCKING MARINE CORPS have to be called in as reinforcements, its a full on right-wingers wet dream in the streets - and skies - thanks to these sweeping declarations. But how embarrassing must this be for the LAPD? 2.14 billion dollars a year budget and they couldn’t squash one small uprising who (successfully!) pushed back federal immigration agents? TWO POINT ONE FOUR BILLION DOLLARS wasn’t enough for them they needed REINFORCEMENTS from weekend warriors? The answer (yes) is even objectively funnier because even the national guard was no match for the few hundred protestors and their endless supply of robotic cars, so the Marine Corps were also requested to come in and point their weapons at reporters and commuters, to intimidate those standing up for the voiceless whose only crime is existing and going to work! Our intrepid, feckless mayor, not able to pin her mistakes on a gay woman, has decided to implement a curfew just to press the boot into necks of the dissidents while also taking a big, beefy lick. How much money will she take from social services next time to inflate the bloated, stinking carcas that is the LAPD?

The fact that these raids are taking place at graduation ceremonies, garment shops, restaurants and hotels is deplorable! People working are not criminals. People supporting their families are not illegal. It’s a nonsensical term only perpetuated by the heartless racists that occupy every youtube channel, X (twitter) thread and fucking podcast (when will science finally rid of podcasts?), deeming anyone they think do not deserve to stand upon stolen land illegitimate. And - right on queue - calls of looters and vandals have dominated the news cycle, because corporate property will always play second chair to human rights. Never is there a call to address the issues being protested to begin with. Never is there a statement starting with “We’ve heard your voices” but rather “we see your crimes.” Well we see your fucking crimes you goddamned criminals and I cannot imagine the people will step away from the streets, no matter how many sirens or helicopters or bullets or tear gas canisters or budget increases or lobotomized troops are thrown back in retaliation. Long live the resistance. Abolish ICE. Defund the LAPD. ACAB means our daunting troops - who in my lifetime have never provided me a single freedom but have shown me the horrors of a failed nation.
