Something I've seen a lot of in regards to FF16 is "You wanted Asura's Wrath 2, you got FF16"

I already feel like I'm going to have an unhealthy obsession with this

oh my god this game

Grand orchestral sadness? check

strange religions? double check

insane battles in space?? CHECK

the art style of this game reminds me a bit of Fist of the North Star

this game is laid out weird, it feels like it almost wants to be an anime first, a manga second and a video game third

(and that's not a dig, just an observation about formatting)

it also seems like they took hindu and buddhist philosophies and threw them into a blender

berserk, too. lots of berserk in here

this is the most video game ass video game i've ever played and I fucking love it

do we need them in Resident Evil games? Probably not. Do they work to get you mashing buttons in a face-off between you and a deity? absolutely.

The chapters

Because they do a “next time on Asuras Wrsth” at the end and it’s like… dude I’m LITERALLY going to play it right now

So I’ve been skipping them

I rolled credits on Chapter 18 of Asura's Wrath last night and after the lengthy credit sequence, the tally of scores and showing me what we've unlocked, it informed me that there is indeed a TRUE ending that I was not privy to

and in order to obtain the true last chapter, I need to get S-rank on 5 chapters, or play at least 50 chapters total

and my smug ass was all "i've easily lapped up 5 s-ranks, losers"

and after getting the tally back from NASA, i indded fell short by 1 S-rank lol

so I'm going in to try to get an s-rank on one more so I can see the TRUE ENDING

oh my god I'm playing the Asura's Wrath DLC and I just hit a story beat that was maybe some of the coolest and best storytelling I've seen in a game

holy shit the end of this DLC is incredible
